Ex-National Enquirer publisher discloses hush money talks with Governor Sanders

The former publisher of the National Enquirer testified in court today that he discussed the terms of a hush money payment with Governor Sanders back in 2018 while she was White House Press Secretary. David Pecker offered that detail while being questioned about his efforts to kill a story about an alleged affair between former President Donald Trump and a model named Karen McDougal. Pecker recounted a phone call with the now-Governor, along with Trump's communications director Hope Hicks. They discussed whether to extend a contract Pecker had signed with McDougal that prevented her from discussing her story.
