Nation Sports: Ryan Brathwaite track reopened

The brand new red and white Regupol track named after Barbados’ distinguished 110m hurdler Ryan Brathwaite was officially declared open this morning at the Usain Bolt Sports Complex. During the opening ceremony, held just before 10 a.m., Pro Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the University of the West Indies (UWI) Cave Campus, Professor Clive Landis, led a group of officials to cut the ribbon at the finish line. Among those was the Head of UWI Academy of Sports, Dr Rudolph Alleyne; Co-Chair of the Barbados Secondary Schools Athletics Championship, Sonja Goodridge; Assistant Meet Director, Andrew Brathwaite and General Manager at Infinity on the Beach Hotel, Rene Coppin.
