PARLIAMENT VOTES TO CREATE THE UGANDA FREE ZONES AND EXPORT PROMOTION AUTHORITY

Parliament has considered merging the Uganda Export Promotions Board with Uganda Free Zones Authority into one entity called the Uganda free zones and export promotions Authority but under the supervision of Ministry of Trade Industry and cooperatives. This follows the on-going deliberations on the rationalization agenda. The chairperson of the Parliamentary committee on Trade and Tourism Mwine Mpaka observes savings of about 6.227 billion shillings in the first year of the merger.
